The Linzi Ashton charity football match was held at Hyde F.C.’s ground to raise money for victim support. The match was in honour of Linzi Ashton who was a victim of domestic violence and was killed by her boyfriend in June 2013.
A team of former Manchester City players played against a side made up of police officers, firefighters and probation workers. Victim support’s Lesley Daniels and singer Rowetta (who was also a victim of domestic abuse) were at the event to talk about the charity and support the Linzi Ashton charity football match.
